Work It Wednesdays! Part II

Anyone who knows me knows I have a very serious Michael Kors addiction!!  There isn’t much that Michael designs that I don’t love, from work clothes to play clothes and swim suits to outer wear it just all works for me.  The shoes and the pocket books can make me swoon and my love for all things MK extends to items for my dog!! A jewelry line was just introduced and of course provides the perfect accessories to complete the look.

What exactly about “the look” appeals to me? I love the classic lines and materials with a modern twist.  I love that the clothes are designed in a way that you can tell he actually likes women!  The acknowledgement that real women have breasts and hips is evident in every piece, providing style that show in the size zero through his plus size line. I love that with a few statement pieces and some basics you can make the look work for you and feel great about how you look.

While I aspire to MK’s couture line, Michael by Michael Kors has become my go to uniform.  A serious, dedicated shopper like myself can find MK in at his life style stores, in fine department stores,  and in this recessionista’s heavens: Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx.

“My” Michael Kors store in The Westchester Mall is amazing, the service is fabulous!  If you visit there tell them I sent you!  Ask for my personal shopper Amanda! I have been to many MK stores across the country (and in Canada) and my second favorite for service and champagne while you shop is in LA at The Grove.  Make sure you ask to be put on the mailing list so that when the store has events you will be invited. At Fashion Night Out there was a great mix of shopping, music wine and prizes. For everything Michael Kors including store locations visit

Finally, I love the communication Michael Kors has established through social media.  You can like on facebook, or follow on twitter and get some behind the scene insight as to how the line gets from Michael’s head to the runway to the store.  It’s fascinating to read about how his life experiences affect his designs and scents.  It also is apparent that the strong, loving women in his life act as muses in his work – something we all benefit from.

Is this a post or a love letter? A bit of both!  Visit and see if you might escape into the world of MK.  Perhaps I might see you there!
