Step It Up Saturdays!

Step It Up Saturdays!

Sometimes the best way to Step It Up is to step away.  Disconnect, unplug, shut down.

I have such a hard time doing this, sometimes thinking that I can check something out on my phone quickly or send a quick text or email – and then it sucks me in!

I actually did this this past weekend, put time with my family first and (almost completely) disconnected. I did post a quick update, checked the box office for Real Steel  and foursquared but no business and no writing. Okay, I may have tweeted once and sent less than five emails.  I am trying to be completely honest here – but you have to believe this is a tremendous reduction of connectivity for me.

You will note that Step It Up Saturdays! and Soulful Sundays! are both being posted on Monday – this is a testament to a  couple of things.  People should always come before technology, we are all only human and some things are worth waiting for!

Give yourself time and space to think away from your technological tethers – it is freeing, fun, and oh so very humanizing.
